The axis ruler is a shape that runs from the start of the scale to its end and has controllable shape and appearance. The settings relevant to the gauge axis ruler are contained in the Gauge Areas\Axes\Ruler tab.

Shape - controls the shape of the ruler. Possible settings are Bar and Line.

Offset - controls the offset of the ruler on the scale

Height - controls the height of the ruler. Note that this setting is not regarded when the shape is set to Line.
