    Numeric Display
    In This Topic

Numeric displays are used to visualize a floating point value in Light-Emitting Diode (LED) fashion. Following is a description of its settings:

     General

    Data

Value - defines the displayed value. Specified by an expression/gauge formula editor (see Gauge Formulas).

Use Automatic Size - controls whether the numeric display will use it's automatic size based on the cell count and cell size, or use the size provided by the control layout.

    Sub Type

Specifies the style of the numeric display. Possible values are: Seven Segment Normal, Seven Segment Rounded, Seven Segment Rectangular, Fourteen Segment Normal, Fourteen Segment Rectangular, Fourteen Segment Inset, Matrix Rectangle and Matrix Circle.

    Sign

Sign Mode - controls when the sign must appear. Possible values are:

    Sign Mode Description
Never The numeric display does not show sign information
Always The numeric display shows sign information for both positive and negative numbers.
Negative Only The numeric display shows sign information for negative numbers only.

When sign mode is set to Always or Negative Only you also have the option to specify whether the sign, when visualized will be attached to the number or shown in the left most cell with the Attach Sign To Number check box. When the sign is not attached to the number you can also optionally specify whether the non used numeric cells will be filled with zeroes or not using the Show Leading Zeros check box.

    Cell Count

Allows you to control the number of cells contained in the numeric display. When the Auto Cell Count is checked the numeric display will automatically calculate the number of required cells. When unchecked you can manually specify the number of cells through the Cell Count numeric up down.

     Whole Part

From this tab page you can control the appearance of cells that display whole part numeric information.

Cell Width - Controls the width of the numeric display cells.

Cell Height - Controls the height of the numeric display cells.

Segment Width - Controls the width of segments within a display cell. Note that this property does not affect the cells if you are using Matrix Circle or Matrix Rectangle numeric display subtype.

Segment Gap - Controls the gap between segments within a display cell.

Lit Fill Style - Controls the filling of lit cell segments.

Dim Fill Style - Controls the filling of dim cell segments.

     Decimal Part

From this tab page you can control the appearance of the cells that display the decimal portion of the numeric display value.

Show Decimal Separator - whether the numeric display must show a dot or rectangle (depending on the sub subtype) that delimits the whole and decimal parts of the displayed value.

Enable Decimal Formatting - whether the numeric display must apply different settings for the cells that display the decimal part of the displayed value. When checked you also have the following options:

Decimal Cell Width - Controls the width of the decimal numeric display cells.

Decimal Cell Height - Controls the height of the decimal numeric display cells.

Decimal Segment Width - Controls the width of segments within a decimal display cell. Note that this property does not affect the cells if you are using Matrix Circle or Matrix Rectangle numeric display subtype.

Decimal Segment Gap - Controls the gap between segments within a decimal display cell.

Decimal Lit Fill Style - Controls the filling of lit cell segments for decimal display cells.

Decimal Dim Fill Style - Controls the filling of dim cell segments for decimal display cells.
