Gauge ranges are used to visually highlight certain ranges of data on a gauge axis. Gauge ranges are available only for radial and linear gauge types. A gauge area can have an unlimited number of gauge ranges, each of which is scaled on exactly one gauge axis. Ranges are visually added, removed and edited from the Ranges tab (Gauge > Gauge Areas > Ranges tab). Following is a description of the gauge range settings:

     General

    Data

Begin - defines the range begin value. Specified by an expression/gauge formula editor (see Gauge Formulas).

End - defines the range end value. Specified by an expression/gauge formula editor (see Gauge Formulas).

Axis - specifies the axis on which the range is scaled. The range begin and end values are clamped to this axis min and max.

    Appearance

Paint Order - controls the order in which the range is visualized relative to the scales contained in the gauge or child gauges (if any). Possible values are:

    Paint Order Description
Auto The control will automatically determine paint order. For ranges it is Before Scale
Before Scale In this mode the range is visualized before the scales in the gauge, thereby allowing the scale labels, ticks and ruler to obscure it.
After Scale In this mode the range is visualized after the scales in the gauge, thereby obscuring scale labels, ticks and ruler.
After Child Gauges In this mode the range is visualized after the the child gauges.

Begin Width - controls the width the range at the range begin.

End Width - controls the width the range at the range end.

Offset From Scale - controls the offset of the range from the scale it is attached to.

Offset Origin Mode - controls how the offset from scale is calculated. Possible values are:

    Offset Origin Mode Description
Scale Begin Offset is applied from the begin of the scale in gauge model space.
Scale Middle Offset is applied from the middle of the scale in gauge model space.
Scale End Offset is applied from the end of the scale in gauge model space.

Fill Style - specifies the range filling

Stroke Style - specifies the range outline

Shadow Style - specifies the range shadow

     Action
Lets you choose the type of action associated with the range. See Actions and Drill Down Reports for more info.
